For My Kids, and for Leaders Like You

Josh Kosnick reflects on the purpose of his podcast as a living record for his children and fellow leaders, emphasizing that leadership is about internal growth and alignment.

I didn’t start this podcast to build a platform. I started it to document conversations.

From the beginning, this was meant to be a living record of the ideas, questions, challenges, and convictions that have shaped my life as a leader. Not just for listeners. Not just for guests. But for me—to look back on, to learn from, and to remember where my head and heart were at different seasons of life.

And just as importantly, I wanted it to be something my kids could return to one day.

A place where they could hear my voice. Hear what I was wrestling with. Hear what mattered to me while I was building, leading, failing, learning, and growing.

Releasing nearly 250 episodes over the years has been a privilege I don’t take lightly. Each conversation has been a chance to slow down, think clearly, and engage with leaders who are willing to be honest—not polished—about what leadership actually requires.

This podcast exists for leaders who want more than motivation.

For people who want challenge, introspection, encouragement, and perspective.

For those who understand that leadership isn’t just about what you build—but who you become while building it.

That’s why this week’s conversation with [Stephen Scoggins](https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephenscoggins/) matters.

We talk about burnout, identity, alignment, and the quiet ways leadership exposes what hasn’t been resolved internally. Not as theory—but as lived experience. It’s a conversation about what it takes to lead sustainably, without losing yourself or the people you care about most.

If you’ve been on this journey with us for a while, thank you.

If you’re new here, I’m glad you’re joining us.

This isn’t just content. It’s a record. And I hope it serves you as much as it’s served me.
